First Visit Expectations

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. You will fill out a few forms on an ipad upon check in.
  • Bring your drivers license or ID, insurance card, list of current medications and copy of imaging reports with images on a CD. If you have had surgery or prior treatment for the same area, bringing medical records is also helpful.
  • After being brought into a room, a history of the current condition will be taken. It is common to then get an x-ray image taken prior to being seen by the physician. This non-invasive study helps provide information regarding anatomy that helps with diagnosing conditions.
  • A physical examination and consultation will occur with Dr. Palumbo. Afterwards the diagnosis/condition will be discussed. Education on the diagnosis and treatment options will be outlined.
  • Sometimes an injection is recommended as a treatment. These are done in the office. There are different types of injections. Some injections (PRP, Xiaflex) require a secondary appointment to be scheduled.
  • All prescriptions and orders for physical therapy or advanced imaging will be provided prior to you leaving your appointment.
  • After advanced imaging Dr. Palumbo prefers to see you back afterwards to go over the results of the imaging study and correlate it to your current symptoms. Sometimes there are incidental or asymptomatic findings on MRI images.
  • We recognize that your time is valuable, and we make every effort to run on time. Occasionally emergencies or patients require a little more time, and these cause scheduling delays beyond our control. We apologize if we keep you waiting.
